F.I.T. Free Zone

Federal Income Tax Free Zone

Stimulating the economy of the 10th District

In order to stimulate the economy in the 10th District, I propose turning the district into a Federal Income Tax Free Zone (F.I.T. Free Zone).

Every year this district pays about $1.8 billion in individual and corporate federal taxes. As your congressman, I will work to appropriate that money and return it to the individuals and companies who paid it. With individuals keeping their hard earned dollars, they can spend and save more, thus stimulating the economy. With companies keeping their hard earned dollars, they can reinvest that money into their business, create more jobs, and be more competitive, again stimulating the economy. It also provides an incentive to keep companies in our district and bring in new companies to grow our economy. To be clear, this $1.8 billion does not include social security or Medicare taxes paid by individuals and employers.

If an estimated $1.6 billion in economic stimulus payments was suppose to help Ohio's economy, imagine what $1.8 billion could do for this district. I urge others in congress to do the same in their districts, end deficit spending, institute sound monetary policy, and return our government to its constitutional limits.
